Once someone dropped words towards me and said to her
companion based on my chosen customer service profession “Oh, she must have missed
her calling”. But if you really think about
it, how many people actually find what they or people think is their calling? And how many people do what they feel they
were destined to do. Time passes, life
happens and opportunities come and go.
So if that’s the case, what’s the purpose? What’s the purpose of life? I have a suggestion.

Enjoy the attempt |
“It’s the thought that counts.” It’s the thought that counts? You’re asking, what’s that supposed to
mean? It’s the intention that
counts. It’s the effort that matters. Maybe that’s why people who
make a lot of money say that the money doesn’t matter. I don’t know if the point of life is to
achieve your calling or to just try to enjoy the ride of the attempt. It's like how the anticipation of Christmas is better to a child than actually the feeling they have after they have opened their presents. After all, how many people actually reach what
one may think may be their calling.
So maybe keep on trying and try to enjoy the attempt. But isn’t that what makes us human? The fact that we make mistakes, the fact that
we miss the mark. So I won’t worry about
trying to be perfect and trying to live out what I or others believe should be
my destiny or my calling. I am just
going to try to enjoy the attempt and enjoy the ride.
