Career or Job, Does it Really Matter?

Even a factory job isn't bad.
Life is what you make it!
Make it work for you!

A trade profession is good,
at least its needed.
Many people feel that they're not fulfilled in life unless they have a career.  But can we be fulfilled with just a job?  Just something that puts food on the table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads and pays the bills.  This is an important question, especially for someone who manages a mental illness.  As someone who manages mental health issues I can tell you, a job versus a career can be blessing, since jobs are generally more menial and repetitive.  A job can be more constructive for persons that need a break from a career with complex decisions, actions and processes.

A job with a uniform
 isn't a bad thing at
least I save $ on clothes.
For me simplicity is bliss.  I find the more I make life simple for myself, the better.  I make all my choices keeping in mind the simplicity I desire. That includes the job I keep.  A career is lovely; but a job can do the job too, if you know what I mean.  I am a university student and I work a job currently.  It puts money in my pocket and food on my table.  It's funny because the longer I am at this job the more I see its value.  At times I question if I truly need the career I aspire or if this job can work.  I've worked here for four years now and despite the occasional stress, I look forward to coming to work and doing my job.  I have concluded that it is good to aspire towards a career, but not to discount the current job that provides my needs.

Therefore, I will continue to work at my job and take my time to work at the goal of my career. There really is no rush for me to reach my career.

Don't discount a job versus a career!  Jobs may be less stressful and once you can get past the initial boredom of the menial tasks, a job can be quite rewarding at the end of the day.  Also a job may be much easier for persons with identified limitations.
