I Budget My Money So That I Can...

I budget my money so that I can… take care of my financial affairs.  Most people hate to pay their bills, they dread it!  I hear them complaining about it, that they have this chore to do.  But I have a different idea… I choose to love to pay my bills.  I look at my bills as my responsibility.   And I choose to love my responsibilities.  To me responsibilities such as paying my bills come along with being an adult and with being independent, and I love my independence.  So I budget my money so that I can live a responsible, prosperous and successful life.

I swear I work just to feed my cat!
I budget my money so that I can… take care of my daily affairs.  Daily affairs such as the groceries I buy and the cleaning and toiletry products I use.  I like to ideally budget in such a way that I have the money available so that I don’t have to go to the ATM or the bank machine between pay days.  So I make sure I keep a $50.00 at home, not more than that so I don’t spend frivolously, and not less than that so that I have to go back to the bank.  The other day for example, I ran out of cat food.  I was fortunate enough to be able to have the funds to go out and buy cat food, take a taxi there and back.  I didn’t have to ask for help, nor did I have to beg a favor or even go to the ATM.  I was able to handle my business all by myself and that meant the world to me.

I budget my money so that I can… enjoy myself.  I’m ‘qwerky’ and my enjoyment is different.  I choose to enjoy things that are cheap because I’m frugal and my latest thing is to enjoy activities which appreciate me and my net worth.  Past appreciating activities I participated in were, my Spanish language classes, reading various books, studying for leisure, writing and working on my blog.  I also enjoy going to the beach in my backyard, (when I want to go to the beach alone) which is the hammock I bought, some popcorn I myself make, and some juice from juice mix.  It’s cheaper than spending $60.00 at the beach.  $20.00 for the chair, $10.00 for the umbrella and $30.00 for food for the day.

I budget my money so that I can... plan for my future.  There is nothing I enjoy more than planning my budget.  Seeing what I can save.  I believe life is all about looking forward to the future, the anticipation of it, enjoying the present, the reward of living out your plans and the memories of past actions.

The aforementioned are reasons I budget my money.  I literally sit down and write out what is most important to pay first; bills with high interest, followed by bills without, things I need to buy such as groceries, toiletries and cleaners.  Next I plan my savings for the present, for the future and lastly I make provision for recreation.  And that is why I budget my money.
