Emotional Tension

According to Alison.com, ("Emotional Tension", n.d. ) is..."Emotional Tension frequently leads to physical tensions which cause neck and upper shoulder muscular pain and sleep disturbances of insomnia and nightmares".
I have experienced this myself after a stress-filled day. I went home did what I had to do to, I did my necessary tasks, relaxed,  and then I went to sleep.  Interestingly enough though, I experienced emotional tension that night and after a little bit of research, I learned that I have been suffering from this for some time. The indicating symptoms are tension in the neck and shoulders which when I am really stressed I tend to experience quite frequently. But yesterday for the first time I experienced nightmares. Nightmares to the point that it woke me up out of my sleep. But my solution was to counsel myself, right in my bed. Just moments after the occurrence, I paused, I gave myself time to breathe, I logically thought it out. I recounted the dream silently to myself, more so because I wanted to remember it and build on my knowledge. After recounting it, I was able to see how this was just a dream, just an experience and no need for panic or to even be upset, so I soon fell back to sleep.
My latest solution to stress.  Riding my bike to the beach
and enjoying the sea, water, and sun.

And now after this experience, I was able to build on my knowledge, endurance, and perseverance of mental health situations. Now mind you, research is the key to being able to understand without necessarily having to go through these issues ourselves and to be able to empathize greater. I have read, viewed, and spoken to persons about mental health experiences in order to collect much of my present knowledge.

I guess building your mental health knowledge is like building your resume. It allows you to have information to reference and draw from when you need help. The information I have learned enables me to know how to deal with situations myself and, or help me to know when I need to seek outside help.
