Embarrass Yourself

Sometimes you have to embarrass yourself.  Ask anyone that is knowledgable about learning and they will tell you that at times you have to go through embarrassment to reach your goals.  It is the same in life overall.   As a person with mental health challenges I've learned that sometimes we have to go through the embarrassment to get to the blessing.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I vacated everytime I was embarrassed.   If I listened to people when they gave me advice to look for another job every time I was embarrassed at my customer service job.

Anyone that has been at a customer service job for a good amount of time knows that there is the embarrassment that goes along with the job via trying to please the customers, following your supervisor's instructions and getting along with your coworkers, especially if your in a highly publicized position, it's difficult.  But what's most important to consider is to not end things just because you may feel embarrassed.  Even if people tell you (And I assure you they will tell you!) how embarrassed they are for you.   I've been through it all and I am able to say that bravery and being strong are attributes needed to be in a customer service job for a long period of time.  It is important to follow your gut feelings and not always necessarily listen to what people may want to feed you.

Whether it's selling at the market . . .

As a person with mental health issues there is some discomfort,  maybe embarrassment which brought you to the realization of your plight.  But don't let that embarrassment be your downfall.  We've (persons with these types of problems) all been through it. Yes, it is uncomfortable, but go through, persevere and don't be stagnant. Plan a prosperous future for yourself and follow through with it.  Let all those other people be embarrassed for you.  You stay focused and be prosperous, even if its just for you!

Or serving ice cream, don't let embarassment 'run' you!.
