Letting go of old wounds:
Today I did something so remarkable, even astounding.
A person I was working with tried to remind me of a past failure. I wasn’t even talking to her. I was simply standing beside her doing my work. She chose to strike up conversation by utilizing a past failure of mine as the topic. I could have lashed out at her. I could have cussed her out. I could have disputed what she said. But interestingly enough, I didn’t. I chose to turn it around. I used it as an opportunity to vent. I engaged her in conversation. We talked about my family, which now lives overseas. We talked about things that interest me, like exercise. We talked about the vacation I had just been on when I went to Barbuda; how I enjoyed it and, so forth. I ended up turning the situation around and instead of it being hurtful, it was a marker of my progress. Sure there will be stressful, even embarrassing times, in life, even at work, but the key is to never give up.
I look to Jesus, to God for inspiration. I observe that regardless of what may happen in a day, the sun will still rise and set. What that communicates to me is that as long as the sun rises and sets we are to continue, to keep on working and pressing forward and to keep on trying to reach our goals.
So when persons remind you of old wounds, stop and think, is there a way that you can turn it around to your benefit? Everything in life can be used for either good or bad, therefore choose to use those old wounds to further you in your walk in life. Keep on Keeping on!
So very true. Just gotta keep moving forward :) Thanks for sharing.
