How You Treat Yourself

How you treat yourself, in comparison to how others treat you, can make all the difference.

Daily I go to my place of employment.  I work long, I work hard and I put up with all kinds of crap, day in, day out, all day long, everyday, from customers and coworkers! Have you figured it out? I work a customer service job. Anyone who knows this line of work knows you put up with a lot which is probably why most people don't last long. But in the midst of all the confusion, stress, wrong treatment and bureaucracy, I find solace. I find solace in the way I treat myself.

It's not necessarily grandeous gestures, but the little things that show me that I love me. Things like taking a nap on my hammock in the backyard on a day off.

Like scheduling a little extra sleep when I've been overly stressed or taking a 20 minute break in a hectic irrand running day. These are the little things I do to show me that I love me. As the examples given show loving yourself doesn't have to cost a lot, it just has to attempt to make things a little bit easier for you. And the attempt alone proves the love.

So the next time someone at your work treats you bad, instead of going home and complaining to your loved one go one step further and turn those wasted words into caring actions to show yourself some much needed love.
